There’s so much happening in Bendigo and we just can’t wait to get out and be a part of it this Spring. Community organisations around Bendigo have been busy planning and preparing for Planet Aware September, and we’re so excited about all the walks, films, talks and so much more we’ve got lined up.

    Campaspe River, Victoria, Australia
    The ACF is running a "platy-project" throughout September, to map the whereabouts of this intriguing animal. This involves finding a quiet space beside a river or creek and keeping a watch out for our elusive friends, then recording your information and sending it back to the ACF.
  • 07 Sept, 8:00 am – 31 Oct, 5:00 pm
    Check out this national competition for kids aged 5 - 12. Starts on 7th September, National Threatened Species Day, and runs through to the end of October. Go to for excellent info about how to enter. Holiday fun!

    Be part of a bold scientific project designed to repair a 138Ha micro-catchment of Box Ironbark forest.

    Join the Riley Street Crew in some maintenance tasks, planting and weeding at the triangle in Riley Street. While you are there, take a look at the rehabilitation and development of this urban bushland.

    A cinematic odyssey exploring David Bowie's creative and musical journey. From visionary filmmaker Brett Morgen, and sanctioned by the Bowie estate. Fundraiser for friends of the Whipstick and Wellsford Forests.

    Finish the school holidays with a great family morning of bike fun. Bring your bike to Wolstencroft Reserve in Flora Hill for safe family riding. Bendigo's Free Wheelin' Fun will be coming along as well to run puncture repair workshops.
